Just thought I’d add a quick post on how to get rid of a stubborn stain, I’m mainly talking about on a diaper but this could apply to anything.

If you find that your baby’s diaper has acquired a stain that doesn’t seem to be moving and you’ve tried the normal remedies, obviously washing and hanging your diapers out to dry in the sun which is a great natural whitener and sanitizer.

Then you could try using our Nappy Fresh….

Nappy Fresh is our Diaper Sanitizer.  Nappy Fresh contains no harmful chemicals or enzymes so there are no worries about using it on your baby’s diapers and there are  no harmful effects on the environment.

You would normally add a spoonful of Nappy Fresh to your wash when sanitizing your diapers but if you have that extra stubborn stain you can mix Nappy Fresh into a paste by just mixing some Nappy Fresh with a few drops of water.

Then you apply to the stain, leave for while and that will do it!  A nice white diaper then awaits.

Thought I’d fill you in on the latest developments at Real Nappies.

We are looking to start selling into China.  Don’t really know how well we’ll do over there.  There are a lot of people but not sure if they are into cloth diapers.

Of course with Real Nappies prefold diapers being 100% cotton they are soooo easy to maintain and wash.  Our covers are also really easily to look after.   You can hot wash both cotton diapers and covers, no worries about special washing!  There are some ingredients however we suggest you never use on your cloth diapers or covers.

Ingredients to Avoid in your Washing Detergent

• Whiteners and Brightners (tiny particles that remain on your clothes making them seem brighter after washing.  These are not necessary and may cause
• Whitening enzymes (help dissolve stains but can cause skin reactions on sensitive babies)
• skin irritation)

• Fragrances and Dyes (Unnecessary chemicals for babies’ laundry)

• Bleach (harsh chemical against babies’ delicate skin)

• Fabric softener (leaves a residue on your diapers and will cause them to be less absorbent

Cheaper Detergent can be better for your Real Nappies Cloth diapers!

Cheaper detergents are less likely to contain any of the above additives that are best avoided.  Therefore you may be able to get away with a cheaper detergent to use on your cotton cloth diapers – saving even more money through using Real Nappies!!

TopTip: Remember to always use less detergent when washing cloth diapers – usually about 1/4 of manufacturers recommended amount, that way you will not build up a detergent residue on your covers which can lead to stinky, inaffective covers.
